Audax Bangor

What is audax? Audax is a cycling sport in which participants attempt to cycle long distances within a pre-defined time limit.

Audax is a non-competitive sport: success in an event is measured by its completion.

In the UK, distances typically start at 50km, with many popular events being 100km or 200km.

Classic long distance events typically involve intervals of 100km (200km, 300km, 400km, 600km).

Audax events have both a minimum and maximum speed (and therefore time). The time allowance includes all stopping time, so your cafe stops are included in the total time allowed. The speed range for a 100km event is typically 15 - 35 kph (11-22 mph), including stopped time. Audax rides are self-sufficient rides.

You will be provided with a route sheet with step by step directions of the course, but there will not be someone to guide you around the course.
